The BUK system is a family of self-propelled, medium-range surface-to-air missile systems designed to combat cruise missiles, smart bombs, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles. In the Russian A2AD (Anti-Access/Area Denial) network, the BUK system is positioned below the S-200/300/400 systems and above the point defense systems Tor and Pantsir.
A standard BUK battalion consists of a command vehicle, a target detection radar vehicle (TAR), six TELAR (Transporter Erector Launcher and Radar) vehicles, and three TEL (Transporter Erector Launcher) vehicles. A BUK missile battery consists of two TELAR vehicles and one TEL, providing a complete set of 14 missiles.
Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
