Description
A plastic model kit depicting the legendary American A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft, commonly known as the "Warthog". The set is prepared as a Starter Kit, which means the package contains the basic accessories necessary to finish the miniature.
History of the original:
The Fairchild-Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat, twin-engine jet aircraft designed for close air support (CAS) of ground troops. Its design was dedicated to destroying tanks, armored vehicles, and other ground targets. The heart of the machine is the powerful, seven-barrel GAU-8/A Avenger 30 mm cannon. The aircraft entered service in 1976 and became famous for its extraordinary resistance to combat damage and its ability to operate from short, improvised runways. It participated in numerous conflicts, including Operation Desert Storm, where it confirmed its effectiveness in destroying enemy armored forces.
Kit characteristics:
- Scale: 1:144
- Number of parts: 51
- Model dimensions: 112 mm (length) x 121 mm (wingspan)
- The set includes: plastic model, decal sheet, polystyrene glue, a brush, and 3 basic acrylic paints
- Marking: Capitaine Kim Campbell, 75th FS / 23rd Wg, Iraq, 2003
The model features a precise reproduction of the aircraft's silhouette, including the characteristic engine nacelles and underwing ordnance. Thanks to the small 1:144 scale, the finished miniature does not take up much space while retaining the details typical of the A-10 design.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, you need separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
