A model kit depicting a legendary duo of British artillery from the Second World War: the AEC Matador artillery tractor and the 5.5-inch howitzer it towed. The 1:76 scale model is part of the Vintage Classics series, based on the original molds from 1966, which gives it a unique, nostalgic character.

History of the original:

The 5.5-inch gun (BL 5.5-inch medium gun) entered service with the Royal Artillery in 1941 during the North African campaign. It quickly became the standard medium artillery gun of the British Army. Thanks to its effectiveness and range, this gun played a key role in providing fire support on many fronts of World War II, from the deserts of Africa to campaigns in Europe. The standard towing vehicle for this system was the reliable, four-wheel-drive AEC Matador, which, thanks to its off-road capabilities, performed perfectly in difficult field conditions.
