Description
Plastic model airplane to assemble: Airbus A320 AF 1:125 Heller 80448
The Airbus A320 is a groundbreaking, twin-engine, medium-range passenger aircraft that revolutionized the civil aviation market. Its history began with the first flight of the prototype on February 22, 1987, and it entered commercial service with Air France on April 18, 1988. It was the world's first passenger aircraft equipped with a digital fly-by-wire control system and a so-called glass cockpit, which allowed for a reduction of the crew to two people and significantly lowered operating costs.
The A320's design is distinguished by the extensive use of composite materials such as carbon fiber, Kevlar, and fiberglass, which allowed for weight reduction while maintaining high structural strength. Thanks to modern aerodynamics and efficient CFM56 engines, the aircraft offered a range 50% greater than its contemporaries.
