History and background:

ZiL-131 is a versatile military truck with a payload capacity of 3.5 tons, designed in the Soviet Union by the ZiL factories. Introduced into production in 1966, it was the military version of the ZiL-130 model, sharing many components with it. The ZiL-131 was used in various roles, including as a transport truck, tractor, dump truck, fuel tanker, and a vehicle for towing trailers.

The APA-50М version was a specialized vehicle designed for airport service, equipped with a mobile electric unit that provided power to aircraft and other airport equipment. Due to its versatility and reliability, the ZiL-131 became one of the most important vehicles in the arsenal of the Soviet army.
