Description
Plastic military model for assembly: Armoured car Wz.34 II 1:72 First To Fight PL009
The Wz. 34 armoured car was the basic armoured vehicle of Polish cavalry units in the interwar period and during the September Campaign in 1939. This design resulted from a deep modernization of the unsuccessful Wz. 28 half-track vehicle. By replacing the rear track mechanism with a drive axle with pneumatic wheels, a vehicle with much better speed, durability, and simpler maintenance was obtained.
The Wz.34-II version, which this model represents, was a later production variant. It was characterized by the use of a more powerful 25 HP Polski Fiat 108-III engine and an improved electrical system. Despite weak armour and limited off-road capability, these vehicles actively participated in the fighting against the German aggressor, serving in armoured car squadrons attached to Cavalry Brigades.
