A model kit depicting the German half-track vehicle Sd.Kfz.3b (V3000S/SSM) equipped with a 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun along with a full crew. In the second half of 1940, the Wehrmacht began deploying 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft guns, which, thanks to their high rate of fire and reliability, became an effective tool for short-range anti-aircraft defense and infantry support in combat against lightly armored ground targets.

Maultier-type vehicles (Sd.Kfz. 3) were created in response to the difficult terrain conditions on the Eastern Front. Standard wheeled trucks could not cope with mud and thaw, which necessitated replacing the rear axle with a tracked drive. The Sd.Kfz.3b version was based on the V3000S truck chassis. Mounting anti-aircraft guns on the cargo beds of these vehicles created mobile anti-aircraft units, crucial for protecting transport columns and line units.
