Plastic model aircraft kit: Avia B-534 1:72 Smer 0960

A plastic model kit representing the Czechoslovak fighter aircraft Avia B-534, one of the most recognizable biplanes of the interwar period. The model was prepared by the Smer company in the popular 1:72 scale, which allows for maintaining details while keeping the finished miniature compact.

History of the original:

The Avia B-534 was a design by engineer Frantisek Novotny and formed the backbone of the Czechoslovak Air Force in the 1930s. This aircraft, which first flew in 1933, was characterized by excellent handling properties and high speed for a biplane design. Although by the outbreak of World War II the design was becoming obsolete in the face of modern monoplanes, the Avia B-534 took part in fighting on many fronts, serving, among others, in the air forces of Slovakia, Bulgaria, and in the German Luftwaffe as a training machine and glider tug.
