Description
Plastic model airplane for assembly: B-26C-45 Marauder 1:48 ICM 48328
This plastic model of the American medium bomber from World War II, the B-26C-45 Marauder, is in 1:48 scale. These aircraft, produced at the Martin plant in Omaha, were structurally identical to the B-26B version, and the C-45 variant became the most produced series from this factory (359 units).
The Martin B-26 Marauder was a technically advanced high-wing aircraft with an all-metal construction. Although it initially earned the grim nickname "The Widowmaker" due to difficult flying characteristics and landing accidents, after improvements to the design (including an increase in wing and tail surface area in 1943), it proved to be a machine with extremely low combat losses. Marauders primarily operated in the European theater of war, including over the Mediterranean Sea and Northwestern Europe.
