Plastic military model kit: Battle of France, Spring 1940 - German Combat Vehicles 1:35 ICM DS3515
A model kit depicting Wehrmacht units during Operation Yellow in the spring of 1940. The French campaign, which began on May 10, 1940, became a symbol of Blitzkrieg tactics, in which the high mobility of troops and efficient radio communication played a key role. Thanks to rapid strikes by armored and motorized units, supported by infantry, German troops forced France to surrender in a short time.
This extensive set includes the following models:
- Sd.Kfz.251/1 Ausf.A Armored Personnel Carrier
- Sd.Kfz.251/6 Ausf.A Command and Communication Vehicle
- le.gl.Einheits-Pkw Kfz.2 Light Off-Road Vehicle
- Set of German driver figures (1939-1945)
Historical Background:
The Sd.Kfz 251 was the basic half-track armored personnel carrier of the German army, produced between 1939 and 1945. The Ausf.A version was characterized by an early armor plate layout and was intensively used during the fighting in France. The 251/1 variant served to transport infantry, while the 251/6 was a specialized command vehicle equipped with extensive radio equipment, essential for coordinating operations at the division and corps level.
The Kfz.2 (le.gl.Einheits-Pkw) is a light four-wheel-drive military off-road vehicle. These vehicles, produced by companies such as Stoewer, BMW, and Hanomag, performed key support functions, mainly serving as mobile radio communication points (Funkkraftwagen) on all fronts of World War II.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
