This plastic model kit represents the Japanese battleship Haruna in a unique dazzle camouflage from 1944. Haruna was the fourth and last battlecruiser of the Kongo class, which was reclassified as a fast battleship during its service. This vessel participated in the most important naval operations in the Pacific during World War II, including the battles of Midway, near the Santa Cruz Islands, in the Philippine Sea, and in Leyte Gulf.
History of the original:- The keel was laid in 1912, and it was commissioned in April 1915.
- During the interwar period, it underwent extensive modernization, receiving a characteristic pagoda-style superstructure and reinforced armor.
- The ship could reach speeds of up to 30-31 knots, making it one of the fastest heavy units of the Japanese fleet.
- It was sunk in July 1945 by American carrier-based aircraft at the naval base in Kure.
- Scale: 1:350
- Special version with new decals for Dazzle camouflage.
- Detailed representation of the main armament (8 guns of 356 mm caliber) and numerous anti-aircraft artillery positions.
