A detailed plastic model of the Japanese battleship Musashi, a sister ship of the famous Yamato, in the configuration from 1944 during Operation Sho-Ichigo. This is a special edition containing additional photo-etched parts that allow for accurate reproduction of details such as radars, catapults, and railings.
Historical characteristics:
- Musashi was the second battleship of the Yamato class, the largest and most heavily armed ships of this class in history.
- It was commissioned into the Imperial Japanese Navy in August 1942.
- The main armament consisted of 9 guns of 460 mm caliber, capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 42 kilometers.
- The ship participated in the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the Battle of Leyte, where it was sunk on October 24, 1944, after massed attacks by American carrier-based aircraft.
