Plastic model kit for assembly: Beechcraft T-34B Mentor VT-5 Training Air Wing 1:48 Academy 12361
The Beechcraft T-34 Mentor is an American military primary trainer aircraft of all-metal, low-wing design, which became an icon of flight training during the Cold War. The machine was developed in the late 1940s by Beechcraft as an economical alternative to the T-6 Texan. The T-34 Mentor entered service in 1953 and quickly gained recognition for its reliability and low operating costs, being adopted by both the USAF and US Navy.
The T-34B version, which this model represents, was a variant dedicated specifically to the US Navy. These aircraft served for decades in training units, preparing successive generations of naval aviators for service on aircraft carriers.
The Academy model kit in 1:48 scale features a detailed cockpit and landing gear. The set also includes masks for painting the canopy, which significantly facilitates finishing work.
