History and specifications of the original BMW R75/5 motorcycle: The BMW R75/5 is a motorcycle produced by the German company BMW from 1969 to 1973. It was one of the first models of the new /5 series, which introduced many modern technical solutions. This motorcycle was powered by a two-cylinder boxer engine with a displacement of 749 cm³, generating 50 HP. As a result, the BMW R75/5 reached a top speed of 175 km/h.
The motorcycle featured a solid construction, including a frame made of electrically welded steel tubes and a swingarm suspension for both wheels. Both the front and rear wheels were equipped with 200 mm drum brakes. The drive to the rear wheel was transmitted via a shaft drive, which was one of the distinguishing features of BMW motorcycles of that era.
The BMW R75/5 was produced in Munich and quickly gained popularity due to its reliability and riding comfort. It was a motorcycle that performed excellently both on long trips and in everyday use. Its classic design and solid workmanship made it one of the most valued models in the history of the BMW brand.
