The history of the Boeing 314 is inextricably linked to the golden age of aviation. Only twelve examples were produced for Pan American World Airways and BOAC. With the outbreak of World War II, these luxurious machines were mobilized for military purposes, serving as transport for the most important figures of that period, including Franklin D. Roosevelt and Winston Churchill. The aircraft featured a double-decker hull, which in the civilian version could accommodate up to 77 passengers or 40 people in comfortable berths.
