Description
Plastic model helicopter kit: Boeing Chinook HC.1 1:72 Airfix 06023
A detailed 1:72 scale plastic model depicting the Boeing CH-47 Chinook HC.1, one of the most recognizable heavy-lift transport helicopter designs in the world. The kit faithfully reproduces the unique tandem rotor configuration, which eliminates the need for a tail rotor through counter-rotating blades.
The Boeing CH-47 Chinook is a powerful heavy-lift helicopter that has served in armed forces for over six decades. Its maiden flight took place in 1961, and since then, it has become indispensable in military and civilian operations worldwide, operating in the most difficult terrain conditions. The Royal Air Force (RAF) ordered 33 units in 1978, and No.18 Squadron became the first operational Chinook unit in Great Britain in 1981. The HC.1 version (Helicopter Cargo Mk.1) made history, among others, during the Falklands War in 1982 and Operation Granby in 1991.
