Historical background: The Boeing EA-18G Growler is a carrier-based aircraft that replaced the Northrop Grumman EA-6B Prowler in US Navy service. Production of the Growler began in 2007, and it entered operational service in late 2009. This aircraft is equipped with advanced electronic warfare systems that enable jamming and deceiving enemy radars. The Growler can carry ALQ-99 jamming pods as well as AIM-120 AMRAAM and AGM-88 HARM missiles.
The Growler has been used in many military operations, including Operation Odyssey Dawn in 2011, where it supported actions related to enforcing a no-fly zone over Libya. These aircraft are also used by the Royal Australian Air Force, which purchased 12 Growler units, becoming the only user of this advanced electronic warfare system outside the USA.
Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. To assemble, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
