Description
Plastic military model for assembly: Bristol Bloodhound 1:76 Airfix 02309V
A plastic model from the Vintage Classics series depicting the British Bristol Bloodhound surface-to-air missile system. The set has been prepared by the renowned company Airfix and allows for the construction of a detailed replica of one of the most important defensive weapons of the Cold War era.
The Bristol Bloodhound was a British long-range guided missile that entered service in 1958. It was the main component of the UK's air defense system, designed to combat jet bomber formations at high altitudes. A unique feature of the Bloodhound was the use of two Bristol Thor ramjet engines, which allowed it to reach speeds exceeding Mach 2. This system was exported to many countries, including Australia, Switzerland, Singapore, and Sweden, remaining in service until the 1990s.
