The 6 Pdr anti-tank gun, also known as the Ordnance QF 6-pounder, was a British 57 mm caliber gun that played a key role as the main anti-tank gun in both the British and American armies (as the 57 mm gun M1) during World War II. Although designed before the outbreak of the war, it entered service only during the North African campaign in April 1942, replacing earlier 2-pounder guns.
