History of the Triumph 3HW motorcycle:

The Triumph 3HW is the military version of the Triumph 3H motorcycle, which was designed in 1940 by the British company Triumph. This motorcycle was a response to the urgent needs of the British army during World War II. The 3HW model was adapted for military use, which included, among other things, reinforcement of the structure and adaptation to difficult terrain conditions.

The Triumph 3HW was mainly used for communication and traffic control in military units. Its reliability and durability made it one of the most important motorcycles used by the British armed forces. Between 1939 and 1945, the British army used about 45 thousand motorcycles of various brands, including Triumph, BSA, Ariel, Norton, as well as American Harley-Davidson and Indian.

The production of the 3HW model began in 1942, after the Triumph factory in Coventry was destroyed during a German bombing in November 1940. After the war, the production of Triumph motorcycles was resumed in a new factory in Meriden, but the focus was on models with twin-cylinder engines, such as the Tiger 100.
