Description
Plastic military model kit: Chernobyl set 2 "Firefighters" (AC-40-137A fire truck, 4 figures and diorama) 1:35 ICM 35902
A model kit depicting the dramatic events of the night of April 26, 1986, when the largest catastrophe in the history of nuclear energy occurred at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. The set allows for the construction of a detailed diorama commemorating the rescue operation and the sacrifice of the firefighters battling the fire in Reactor Unit No. 4.
The main element of the set is the Soviet heavy fire truck AC-40-137A, built on a ZIL-131 truck chassis. This vehicle was widely used by fire departments throughout the Soviet Union, including units stationed in Pripyat, which were the first to arrive at the disaster site.
Set characteristics:- Plastic model of the AC-40-137A fire truck (ZIL-131 chassis).
- Set of 4 firefighter figures in period protective gear.
- Diorama base with a photographic background.
- Total number of parts: 359 (295 vehicle parts, 37 figure parts, and 27 accessory parts).
The Chernobyl accident occurred as a result of the overheating of the RBMK-1000 reactor core, which led to a hydrogen explosion and the release of radioactive substances. Firefighters from units such as Pripyat Fire Det. 6 and 2 worked in extremely dangerous conditions, often without adequate radiation protection equipment, showing immense heroism to stop the spread of the fire to adjacent power plant units.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
