Description
Plastic military model kit: Churchill Bridge Layer 1:76 Airfix 04301V
The Churchill Bridge Layer is an extremely interesting 1:76 scale model that allows you to recreate one of the most ingenious engineering vehicles used by British and Allied forces during World War II. This design, based on the Churchill tank chassis (in a turretless version), provided key support for armored and mechanized units, enabling the rapid crossing of terrain obstacles such as rivers, craters, or destroyed infrastructure.
The vehicle was equipped with a unique bridge-laying mechanism that allowed a 30-foot structure to be deployed in just 90 seconds. Thanks to the use of a rotating arm with rollers, the bridge remained in a horizontal position throughout the entire deployment process, ensuring stability and precision. Once deployed, the Tank Bridge No.2 was capable of supporting a Class 60 load for tracked vehicles and Class 40 for wheeled vehicles.
The model is characterized by a detailed reproduction of the bridge-laying system and a solid chassis construction, making it an excellent element for dioramas depicting engineering operations on the European front. Thanks to the excellent off-road capabilities of the original Churchill chassis, these vehicles could operate in difficult conditions, supporting the advance of engineering troops.
Kit features:
- 129 plastic parts for assembly
- Scale 1:76
- Detailed bridge-laying system with rotating arm
- Skill level: 2
- Includes a painting scheme for a World War II vehicle
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue.
