History of CKM wz. 30: The heavy machine gun wz. 30 is a Polish modification of the American Browning M1917. Produced from 1931 to 1939 by the State Armaments Factory, it became the standard heavy machine gun of the Polish Army. It was water-cooled and fed with 7.9 mm Mauser ammunition. In total, over 10,000 copies of this weapon were produced.

The CKM wz. 30 was used not only by the Polish Army but also exported to Spain, where over 1,700 units reached Republican Spain during the civil war. After the defeat of the September campaign, some of the rifles were seized by the Germans and used in rear units and in fights against partisans.
