History of the YPR-765 vehicle:
The YPR-765 is a Dutch infantry fighting vehicle based on the AIFV design developed by FMC Corporation. This vehicle replaced older models AMX-VCI and YP-408 in the Royal Netherlands Army, entering service in 1977. The production of the vehicles was the result of cooperation between FMC and Dutch companies such as DAF and Philips. DAF was responsible for the vehicle's interior and the design of specially designed turrets, while Philips developed the fire control system.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the Netherlands placed several orders for the YPR-765, covering various vehicle variants, including versions with TOW launchers, command vehicles, and evacuation vehicles. In total, by around 1990, the Royal Netherlands Army had 2140 YPR-765 vehicles.
The YPR-765 played a key role in modernizing the Dutch armed forces, providing better protection and mobility for infantry. This vehicle was also used in various international missions, highlighting its versatility and reliability.
