History and use: The Ural-375A is a military truck that became the standard 6×6 vehicle with a payload of 5 tons in the Soviet Army. Production of the Ural-375D model began in 1964 in Miass. These vehicles were extremely popular in the army due to their robust construction and excellent off-road capabilities. The Ural-375 chassis was used as a base for various special vehicles, such as mobile command posts, radio and radar stations, transporters, and anti-aircraft missile launchers, fuel tankers, and multiple launch rocket systems.
The Ural-375 was produced from 1961 to 1993 at the Ural Automotive Plant in the Russian SFSR. It replaced the ZIL-157 model as the standard truck of the Soviet Army in 1979, and was later replaced by the Ural-4320. This vehicle was used as a platform for the BM-21 Grad rocket launcher, military transporter, and supply vehicle.
