Plastic model aircraft kit: Curtiss P-40B/C Tomahawk 1:72 Zvezda 7201
A plastic model kit depicting the American fighter from the World War II era - the Curtiss P-40B/C Tomahawk. Aircraft of this type were characterized by a solid construction and heavy armament, which allowed for their effective use not only in air combat but also for attacking ground and naval targets. As part of the Lend-Lease program, these machines were also sent to the Soviet Union, where they took part in fighting on the Eastern Front.
History of the original:The Curtiss P-40 was one of the most important American fighters in the early period of World War II. Versions B and C, known by the British name "Tomahawk", took part in battles in North Africa, over China (the famous "Flying Tigers"), and in the defense of Pearl Harbor. Although they were less maneuverable than some enemy designs, their armor and firepower made them formidable opponents.
