Plastic model aircraft kit: Curtiss P-40K / Kittyhawk Mk.III 1:72 Smer 0875
A plastic model kit depicting the American fighter aircraft from World War II – Curtiss P-40K Warhawk, known in British service as the Kittyhawk Mk.III. This is a kit from the Czech manufacturer Směr, which allows for building a miniature of one of the most recognizable fighters of that period, characterized by its solid construction and distinctive air intake under the engine.
The Curtiss P-40 was the primary USAAF fighter in the early stages of the war, and the K version was one of the most numerous variants produced, equipped with a more powerful Allison engine. These aircraft served on almost all fronts – from the deserts of North Africa, through the freezing territories of the Soviet Union, to the islands of the Pacific.
Available painting and marking variants:
- Royal Air Force: No. 112 Sqn., 239 Wing GA-E (42-45788), Medenine-El Hamma, April 1943.
- Soviet Air Force: 436 IAP, pilot Lt. G. F. Kuznetsov, December 1943.
- US Army Air Forces: 64 FS, 57 FG 1-1, pilot Capt. G. D. Hoobs, Western Desert, 1943.
Kit for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, you will need separately sold modeling tools (e.g., nippers, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g., Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
