Plastic model kit: CVN-69 USS Eisenhower 1:800 Academy 14212
USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) is a modern American nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, the second ship of the Nimitz class. Ships of this class have been a symbol of American dominance on the world's seas and oceans for decades, being the largest floating units until the introduction of the Gerald Ford class. The keel for the USS Eisenhower was laid in 1970, and the unit entered service with the US Navy in 1977.
The ship took part in numerous operations worldwide, including securing operations during the first Gulf War (1990-1991) and operating off the coast of Lebanon in 1982. As a Nimitz-class unit, the aircraft carrier possesses enormous striking power, capable of carrying up to 90 aircraft, including F/A-18 Super Hornet fighters or E-2 Hawkeye early warning aircraft.
