History of the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk: The Douglas A-4 Skyhawk is a single-engine, subsonic attack aircraft designed by the American company Douglas Aircraft Company, later produced by McDonnell Douglas. This aircraft was created as a successor to the propeller-driven Douglas A-1 Skyraider and was used by the United States Navy and Marine Corps.
