The Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is an American carrier-borne early warning aircraft (AEW) that has become a key element of the defensive systems of carrier battle groups. The model depicts the E-2C version in the colors of the French naval aviation - Marine Nationale. These aircraft, characterized by the distinctive rotating radar dome on the fuselage, serve as the "eyes of the fleet," monitoring vast air and sea spaces.

The E-2C version, introduced into service in the 1970s, represented a significant technological leap over its predecessors due to the use of modern AN/APS-145 radar systems and advanced digital computers. The French Marine Nationale is one of the few users of these aircraft outside the USA, operating them from the deck of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle.
