About the E-4B "Nightwatch": The Boeing E-4B, also known as "Nightwatch," is an advanced airborne command and control point that plays a key role in the United States' defense strategy. These aircraft are specially modified versions of the Boeing 747-200B, designed under the National Emergency Airborne Command Post (NEACP) program.

The E-4B serves as a mobile command center for the highest authorities of the USA, including the president, the secretary of defense, and their successors. These aircraft are operated by the 1st Airborne Command and Control Squadron of the 595th Command and Control Group, stationed at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. During operations, the E-4B is referred to as the "National Airborne Operations Center" (NAOC) and has earned the nickname "Doomsday plane" due to its ability to operate in extreme conditions, including in the event of a nuclear explosion.

History and development: The first E-4A aircraft were delivered in the 1970s, and their design was based on uncompleted commercial orders for the Boeing 747-200. In 1979, the E-4B model was introduced, distinguished by advanced equipment, including a large SHF satellite antenna mounted on the top of the fuselage. All earlier E-4A models were upgraded to the E-4B standard, significantly enhancing their communication capabilities and resistance to electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from a nuclear explosion.
