Description
Early US Navy & USMC 6x17ml Hataka HTK-BS53 Paint Set
A set of Blue Line acrylic paints, specially optimized for brush application, intended for recreating historical camouflage schemes of United States Navy (US Navy) and Marine Corps (USMC) aircraft in the period from 1919 to 1942.
After World War I, US naval aviation adopted the standard Aluminium Dope camouflage, initially supplemented by Naval Aircraft Grey on metal components. In 1941, the NS Light Grey scheme was introduced, which after 10 months was replaced by the pre-war NS Sea Grey / Blue Grey over NS Light Grey pattern.
Set Contents:- HTK-B078 Aluminium - Standard color for US Navy aircraft from 1919 to the end of 1940.
- HTK-B050 Light Grey (FS36495) - Equivalent of Naval Aircraft Grey, used on metal parts until the mid-1930s.
- HTK-B066 Insignia (Orange) Yellow (ANA 506) - High visibility color used on upper wing surfaces from 1925 to the end of 1940.
- HTK-B048 Light Gull Grey (FS36440) - Equivalent of NS Light Grey, used as an overall color from January 1941 and on lower surfaces from October 1941.
- HTK-B218 Blue Grey (FS35189) - Equivalent of ANA 603 NS Sea Grey / Blue Grey, used on upper surfaces from October 1941 to early 1943.
- HTK-B030 European I Grey (FS36081) - Equivalent of ANA 513 Engine Grey, used for painting engines and other structural elements.
Blue Line series paints are characterized by excellent coverage and fluidity when working with a brush, allowing for a smooth surface without brush marks.
