About the F-15E Strike Eagle:

The F-15E Strike Eagle is an American multirole fighter jet designed for operations in all weather conditions. It was developed based on the F-15 Eagle fighter, with its design starting in the 1980s as part of the Dual-Role Fighter (DRF) program. This aircraft was created for long-range, high-speed intercept missions without the need for escort or electronic support.

The F-15E is distinguished by its darker camouflage, additional fuel tanks (CFT), and the LANTIRN system mounted behind the air intakes for the engines. The first flight of the F-15E took place in 1986, and production continued by Boeing after the merger with McDonnell Douglas in 1997. This aircraft became the primary strike fighter for the USAF at the end of the Cold War, replacing the F-111 Aardvark.

The F-15E Strike Eagle has participated in numerous military operations, including in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and Libya. During these missions, it conducted strikes on high-value targets, combat patrols, and provided air support for coalition forces. This aircraft has also been exported to several countries and is expected to remain in service with the USAF until the 2030s.

333rd Fighter Squadron:

The 333rd Fighter Squadron is part of the 4th Operations Group, 4th Fighter Wing, stationed at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina. This unit operates F-15E Strike Eagles, conducting advanced fighter training.

The history of the 333rd Fighter Squadron dates back to 1957 when the unit was activated at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base as the fourth squadron of North American F-100 Super Sabres within the 4th Fighter-Day Wing. Throughout its history, the squadron has gone through various phases, operating different types of aircraft, including the Republic F-105 Thunderchief, LTV A-7D Corsair II, and Fairchild Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II.

During the Vietnam War, the 333rd Fighter Squadron was involved in combat operations in Southeast Asia, stationed at bases in Thailand. After the Cold War, the squadron was reduced, but in 1994 it returned to Seymour Johnson Air Force Base as a training unit for the F-15E Strike Eagle.
