About the F-86D "Sabre Dog":

The F-86D "Sabre Dog" is an American supersonic interceptor fighter developed in the late 1940s for the United States Air Force. It was an advanced variant of the F-86 Sabre fighter, designed specifically as an interceptor to operate in all weather conditions. Although initially designated as YF-95, it was renamed F-86D before production began, despite sharing only 25% of its parts with the original F-86.

The F-86D was the first American night fighter designed for a single crew member and one engine. Its design was innovative, and the absence of gun armament was replaced with a more effective missile system at the time, making it an effective tool in combating enemy bombers.
