About the F/A-18F Super Hornet: The F/A-18F Super Hornet is an American supersonic multirole fighter capable of operating from aircraft carriers. It is an upgraded version of the earlier F/A-18 Hornet model, characterized by larger dimensions and advanced technology. The Super Hornet is capable of performing both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions, making it an extremely versatile tool in the arsenal of the armed forces of the United States, Australia, and Kuwait.

The aircraft is equipped with an internal M61A2 20 mm rotary cannon and can carry a variety of weapons, including air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles. Additional fuel tanks can be mounted on five external hardpoints, and the aircraft can serve as an aerial refueler thanks to an external refueling system.

VFA-103 Jolly Rogers Squadron: The VFA-103 squadron, known as the Jolly Rogers, is a United States Navy aviation unit that was established in 1952. It currently operates from Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia. The Jolly Rogers are known for their distinctive markings: a white skull and crossed bones on the black tails of their aircraft, with additional gold stripes on the tips of the vertical stabilizers. These recognizable markings are a symbol of their rich history and tradition.

History and achievements: The Super Hornet entered operational service in the United States Navy in 2001, replacing the Grumman F-14 Tomcat, which was retired in 2006. This aircraft has participated in numerous combat operations in the Middle East, including wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as actions against the Islamic State and forces allied with Assad in Syria.

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) also decided to purchase the F/A-18F in 2007 to replace its aging fleet of General Dynamics F-111C. Australian Super Hornets entered service in December 2010, enhancing the country's defensive capabilities.
