Plastic model aircraft kit: Focke-Wulf Fw-189A-2 1:72 ICM 72292
The Focke-Wulf Fw 189A-2 Uhu (Eagle-owl) is a German twin-engine reconnaissance and army cooperation aircraft with a characteristic twin-boom design, which became one of the most recognizable Luftwaffe aircraft of World War II. Due to its unique shape, it was nicknamed Rama by the Russians on the Eastern Front. The aircraft entered service in 1940 and was produced until mid-1944, with a total of 845 production units built.
The A-2 version was characterized by reinforced defensive armament in the form of two twin MG 81Z machine guns. Thanks to the almost completely glazed crew gondola, the machine offered excellent visibility, which, combined with a low minimum speed, made it an ideal tool for observing the battlefield and correcting artillery fire. The Fw 189 was valued by crews for its extraordinary durability and flight stability, capable of returning to base even after serious structural damage or on a single working engine.
