The model represents a machine used by the famous Jagdgeschwader 54 "Grünherz" unit, characterized by specific late-war camouflage and the green heart emblem. The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D, also known as the "Dora", was one of the most effective modifications of this fighter, equipped with a Junkers Jumo 213 inline engine, which significantly improved its performance at high altitudes.

The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 was introduced into service in 1944 as a response to the growing superiority of Allied bombing raids. Thanks to its lengthened fuselage and new power unit, this aircraft became a worthy opponent for the latest versions of the Spitfire and P-51 Mustang fighters. Units serving in JG 54 took part in intense fighting on the Western Front, covering, among others, Me 262 jet bases.
