Ford Model A – historical background:
The Ford Model A, introduced in 1927, was the successor to the legendary Model T, which dominated the automotive market for 18 years. The new model quickly gained popularity, and by February 1929, one million units had already been sold. By July of the same year, this number had risen to two million, and by March 1930, three million units had been sold. Production ended in March 1932, after a total of 4,858,644 units were produced in all body styles.
The Model A was available in various body styles, from the basic Tudor, costing $500, to the luxurious town car with a dual cowl, priced at $1,200. This car was available in four standard colors, making it an attractive choice for a wide range of customers.
The gangster era:
The 1920s and 1930s in the United States were a time of dynamic social and economic changes. The economic crisis that began in 1929 contributed to an increase in crime, including notorious bank robberies. Cars like the Ford Model A became an integral part of criminal activity, enabling quick movement and escape from the crime scene. Combined with firearms, such as the Thompson submachine guns, known as "Tommy guns," gangs became more effective and audacious.
