History of the Char 2C tank: The Char 2C, also known as FCM 2C, was a French super-heavy tank designed in the final phase of World War I. Although its production began after the war ended, it remains the largest tank ever to enter production. It was developed by the French shipyard Forges et Chantiers de la Méditerranée (FCM) near Toulon.

The Char 2C had a crew of 12. Its main armament consisted of a 75 mm gun, along with four additional 8 mm machine guns. The Char 2C measured 10.27 m in length and 3 m in width, with a weight of 69 tons. It was powered by two German Maybach engines, each producing 250 HP, allowing it to reach speeds of 12-15 km/h. The armor was 45 mm thick at the front and 22 mm on the sides, capable of withstanding anti-tank weaponry from the 1920s and 1930s.

Operational history: Only 10 units of the Char 2C were produced, named after ancient regions of France. Although their combat value diminished with the development of more modern tanks, in 1939 all were activated and assigned to the 51st Tank Battalion. Their main role was propaganda, and the tanks were often used in morale-boosting films, portrayed as invincible super-tanks.

During the German offensive in June 1940, to avoid capture by the enemy, the tanks were sent to southern France. Unfortunately, they failed to reach a safe location and were deliberately destroyed by their own crews. One of the tanks, Champagne, was captured by the Germans and displayed as a war trophy in Berlin.

Assembly and painting kit. Does not include paints or glue. Assembly requires separately sold modeling tools (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
