Historical background: ANZAC was a corps formed from Australian and New Zealand soldiers, which went down in history for its exceptional bravery during the Dardanelles operation. The fighting on the Gallipoli peninsula became a symbol of sacrifice and the foundation of national identity for these nations. In turn, the Turkish army, supported by German technical expertise, defended access to the straits, mainly using Mauser rifles (models M1903, M1893, and even older M1887) and German MG08 and MG09 machine guns.
