History of the original:

Restricted by the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles, the German Kriegsmarine found a legal loophole by creating a fleet of fast assault units with wooden hulls, known as Schnellboots. These units were meticulously designed and improved. By the outbreak of World War II, they had become a powerful element of German naval power.

Equipped with three diesel engines and a triple rudder system, German E-Boats were among the fastest warships in the world. Their low profile, high maneuverability, and torpedo armament allowed them to penetrate Allied convoys, inflict significant losses, and withdraw before the enemy could counterattack.
