The figure set for assembly depicts German mountain troops (Gebirgsjager) from the World War II era. These elite military units were known for their excellent effectiveness in combat operations, both in the mountains and in other theaters of war.

History and historical background: The Gebirgsjager units, also known as alpine shooters, were formed in Europe at the beginning of World War I. During the interwar period, especially in the 1930s, Germany intensively developed its mountain troops. In 1938, the 1st Mountain Division "Edelweiss" was established, which became a symbol of the German mountain shooters.

During World War II, Gebirgsjager participated in many key military operations. They took part in campaigns in Norway in 1940, in the Balkans and Crete in 1941, as well as in the Italian campaign from 1943 to 1945. Their most famous involvement was in the Battle of the Caucasus, where despite initial successes, they ultimately suffered defeat.

Set for self-assembly and painting. Does not include paints or glue. For assembly, separately sold modeling tools are needed (including cutters, files, tweezers), paints, brushes, and plastic model glue (e.g. Tamiya Extra Thin Cement). The photo shows a professionally assembled and painted model.
