Historical and technical description:
The V3000S Einheitsfahrerhaus truck was a key element of the Wehrmacht's transport fleet. Produced at Ford's factories in Cologne from 1941, this truck was powered by a V8 engine with an output of 95 HP. Its payload capacity was 3 tons, making it an extremely versatile vehicle used by all branches of the German armed forces – the army, air force, and navy.
As the war progressed, various modifications were introduced to simplify production and save materials. One of them was the use of the so-called "Einheitsfahrerhaus" – a cabin made of pressed wood, which allowed for cost and material reduction. These trucks were widely used until the end of the war.
The production of the V3000S continued even after the USA entered the war, despite the suspension of parts deliveries from America. These trucks were produced in various versions, including different bodies, making them extremely versatile. The standard model featured a platform with a tarpaulin and the possibility of installing seats, allowing for the transport of soldiers.
Despite intense bombings of Cologne, production at Ford's factories continued until the end of the war, and the V3000S trucks were a key element of Wehrmacht logistics.
