The Pz.Kpfw. III Ausf. N was the final development version of the famous Panzer III. It was designed as an infantry support tank, armed with a short-barreled 75 mm KwK 37 L/24 gun, which was previously mounted on early versions of the Panzer IV tank. These vehicles played a significant role in the fighting in North Africa, supporting panzer grenadier units in clashes with Allied forces.

Historical background:

The Panzerkampfwagen III was the "workhorse" of the German armored forces in the first half of World War II. Produced between 1937 and 1943, it underwent many modifications. The N version was created by rearming the chassis of the J, L, and M versions with a short-barreled 75 mm gun. This solution was forced by experiences from the Eastern Front, where standard 50 mm guns proved insufficient for infantry support. These tanks served on all fronts, from the sands of Africa to the frozen steppes of Russia, until the end of the war.
