The set of figures depicts German paratroopers (Fallschirmjäger) from the early period of World War II, covering the years 1939-1942. These formations, part of the Luftwaffe, became one of the most elite units of the Third Reich, participating in key airborne operations, including the attack on Crete. Due to their effectiveness and determination in later ground battles, they earned the nickname "Green Devils" among the Allies.
