History and background of the vehicle: The Opel Admiral was one of the most prestigious passenger car models produced by Opel from 1937 to 1939. It was first presented at the International Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition in Berlin in 1937. This car was meant to compete with luxury brands such as Horch, Mercedes-Benz, and Maybach, while offering a more affordable price.
The Admiral was powered by a newly developed six-cylinder engine with a capacity of 3.6 liters, generating 75 HP. This allowed the car to reach a top speed of 132 km/h. It was a vehicle designed for comfortable and fast travel on the newly built German highways.
Production of the Admiral model ended in October 1939, when many of these cars were requisitioned by the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe for use as personal transport for high-ranking officers. These cars were used on both the western and eastern fronts until the end of the war. A total of 6404 units were produced, of which over 2000 had a convertible body.
