Plastic model kit: Clock with tourbillon G.E.T. Leonardo da Vinci (educational model (14+) Academy 18185
The G.E.T. clock is an educational model of a mechanical timepiece inspired by the designs of Leonardo da Vinci. It combines classic gears with a modern escapement mechanism and tourbillon, allowing for an understanding of the principles behind precision watches. It requires no glue, paint, or batteries – ideal for enthusiasts of technology and the history of inventions.
The G.E.T. clock (Gear - Escapement - Tourbillon) is an extraordinary educational model that presents the principles of mechanical clocks in an accessible way. The project was inspired by the inventions of Leonardo da Vinci and contemporary watch engineering.
This model allows not only to admire the complex gear system but also to experience the operation of three key mechanisms:
- G (Gear system rotation) – the gear system driving the clock,
- E (Escapement mechanism) – the escapement mechanism that controls the flow of energy and regulates the clock's movement,
- T (Tourbillon movement) – the mechanism rotating the balance, which mitigates the effect of gravity on the accuracy of time measurement.
Self-assembly kit. Does not include paints or tools. No glue is required for assembly.
For assembly, a knife or pliers will be needed to cut the plastic parts from the frames. Additional modeling tools (such as files or tweezers) and paints will also be helpful (but are not required).
