Description
Plastic model airplane for assembly: Gotha Go 244B-2 1:48 ICM 48224
This plastic model of the German transport aircraft Gotha Go 244B-2 from World War II is in 1:48 scale. This aircraft was developed as a motorized version of the Go 242 transport glider, which was a response to the shortage of towing machines and difficulties in operating unpowered aircraft.
The Go 244B-2 version was based on the Go 242B-2 airframe and featured a landing gear with oil shock absorbers. It was most commonly equipped with captured French Gnome-Rhone 14M engines. These machines served in several Luftwaffe transport squadrons, including in Greece, and later in the war, they were used in flight schools and training centers.
