History and background of GAT-X105 Strike Gundam: GAT-X105 Strike Gundam is a prototype multifunctional mobile suit that debuted in the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED anime. It is one of five advanced suits developed by the Earth Alliance as part of Project G. Its main pilot was Kira Yamato, who later transferred it to Mu La Flaga, a former ace pilot of mobile suits.
Strike Gundam stands out for its versatility thanks to the Striker Pack system, which allows the suit to be adapted for various types of combat, such as high mobility (Aile Strike), long-range attack (Launcher Strike), or close combat (Sword Strike). The suit is also equipped with an advanced Phase Shift armor system that provides protection against physical attacks, albeit at the cost of energy consumption.
Armament and equipment:
- Fixed armament: Two CIWS "Igelstellung" automatic cannons and "Armor Schneider" combat knives.
- Handheld armament: 57mm energy rifle Beam Rifle and a shield that can be mounted on the left forearm.
- Optional armament: Bazooka, XM404 "Grand Slam" anti-ship sword, MMI-M100 anti-aircraft shotgun, and a saber for simulation combat.
Special equipment and features:
- Mounting points for Striker Packs: A key feature of the Strike Gundam, allowing for the attachment of additional equipment.
- Phase Shift armor: Changes the color of the suit and provides protection against physical attacks, but consumes energy.
Operational history: Strike Gundam played a key role in many battles during the Alliance-PLANT war, including the battle of Heliopolis, where it was first used by Kira Yamato. After numerous encounters and damage, the suit was rebuilt by the Orb Union and equipped with a new operating system, allowing Mu La Flaga to pilot it effectively.
The GAT-X105 Strike Gundam EG 1:144 model is not only an excellent replica of the iconic suit from the Gundam series but also a great opportunity to develop modeling skills and enjoy one of the most recognizable designs in the mecha world.
Gunpla is an abbreviation for GUNdam PLAstic model. Models do not require glue or (mostly) painting. They are based on the Japanese series - Gundam - which debuted in Japan in 1979 and featured giant combat robots reaching heights of up to 18 meters, piloted by humans.
