Plastic model kit: Gunpla MS-06R Zaku II HMT Psycho Zaku Ver. Ka MG 1:100
The Gunpla MS-06R Zaku II HMT Psycho Zaku Ver. Ka MG 1:100 kit is one of the most recognizable and impressive models from the Master Grade (MG) line by Bandai. It is a model from the "Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt" universe and is known for its enormous size, rich armament, and unique design.
What does "Ver. Ka" mean?
"Ver. Ka" is short for "Version Katoki." This means that the design of the model has been overseen by the renowned mecha designer Hajime Katoki. His versions are characterized by:
- Exceptionally high levels of detail and precision: Katoki is known for adding a large number of panels, lines, and mechanical details that give the models a more realistic, "military" appearance.
- Distinctive packaging style: They often have minimalist, white boxes with artistic renders of the mecha.
- Increased complexity of construction: Ver. Ka models are often more complicated to assemble, offering advanced gimmicks and movable parts.
- Abundance of water decals: The kit always includes a large number of water decals that significantly enhance the appearance of the finished model.
Features and characteristics of the Psycho Zaku Ver. Ka MG 1:100 model
Rich armament: The kit includes an impressive array of weapons:
- Beam Bazooka
- Multiple giant bazookas
- Zaku Machineguns
- Heat Hawks
- Hand grenades
- Spare magazines
Unique backpack (Propellant Tank Backpack): This is a key design element of the Psycho Zaku. It is gigantic and equipped with numerous nozzles, fuel tanks, and retractable sub-arms that can hold additional weapons. It is one of the most complicated and detailed backpacks in Gunpla history.
Gunpla is a shortening of GUNdamPLAstic model. The models do not require glue or (mostly) painting. They are based on the Japanese series - Gundam - which debuted in Japan in 1979 and featured giant combat robots reaching heights of up to 18 meters, piloted by humans.
Assembly kit. To assemble it, you will need modeling nippers (to cut the model parts from the frames), which are not included in the kit. It is also worth equipping yourself with a modeling knife (or a utility knife). The photo shows a professionally assembled model.
